Are you an artist between the ages of 15 and 30? Do you live in or near Durango, CO? This contest is for you!
The theme is Transformation.
The Butterfly Collective aims to help artists at all stages of their careers to share their art with the world and reach their full creative potential- to “transform” into a better version of themselves.
We invite you to interpret the meaning of transformation in your own way. How would you like to transform yourself, or the world? What stages of transformation have you already experienced? What is changing for you right now? Think big or small, personal or cultural, literal or abstract- we would love to see the direction you take!
Requirements:
Media: Any two or three dimensional medium will be accepted. If you would like to submit a video, performance piece or any other art form involving sound or movement please reach out to Sarah House (email shouse1197@comcast.net) to see if we can make it work.
Size: Please keep two dimensional work within 32” x 24”. Please have the work framed and wired for hanging. Three dimensional work should be no taller than 36” and no wider than 24”.
Information: Please provide the title, dimensions and medium of your work. We would also like a one-paragraph reflection on how you express the idea of “transformation” in the piece and how that is significant for you.
